Reduction in Problem Behavior
ABA Therapy for Tantrums, Aggression, and Other Challenging Behaviors
At BIG, we understand how overwhelming it can be when your child struggles with problem behaviors. Whether it’s tantrums, aggression, self-injury, or noncompliance, these challenges can interfere with learning, social development, and family routines. Our ABA therapy team specializes in identifying the root causes of these behaviors and developing personalized intervention plans that promote lasting change.
We serve families across St. Clair County by providing one-on-one therapy guided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with years of experience supporting children with autism and other developmental differences. Services are available in homes and schools—wherever the support is needed most.
What Is Problem Behavior?
Problem behavior refers to actions that interfere with a child’s ability to function effectively at home, school, or in social settings. These behaviors may include:
-
Aggression (e.g., hitting, kicking, biting)
-
Tantrums or frequent meltdowns
-
Self-injurious behavior (e.g., head banging, scratching)
-
Noncompliance and defiance
-
Elopement (running away)
-
Disruptive or unsafe behavior in public settings
-
Property destruction
These actions are often a child’s way of communicating unmet needs or frustrations. Through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we teach children new, functional behaviors that serve the same purpose—but in a safe, appropriate, and effective way.
