Why choose Behavior Innovation Group
ABA Therapy can be provided in home, in the community, at Day Care, and with some insurances at school. For community settings, the therapist can join the caregiver at an event or location and conduct meaningful sessions. We have found many Day Care facilities welcome the assistance of a trained therapist on site to work one on one with your child. Several insurances also allow therapy to be conducted during the school session. We have found that working with behaviors in the classroom can provide many opportunities for improvement. Our therapist work on addressing behaviors that allow for the opportunity for increased learning and improved communication/understanding with classmates and instructors.
In-Home ABA Therapy brings the following benefits:
Familiarity: It reduces transition anxiety, making it highly suitable for children who find large or new clinical settings overwhelming. The ABA therapist will use any toys that the child already has access to at home. Reinforcers can be various things, such as toys, preferred snacks, and/or social praise. Their ABA therapist will assess what the child likes during every session. Reinforcers are an essential part of ABA therapy, they are used to help reinforce good behavior and teach a variety of different skills- some examples include: communication, play, and peer interactions.
Real-World Application: Certain behaviors may often occur in the home, for example, resisting instruction for daily tasks or problem behaviors with siblings during playtime. A BCBA will pinpoint why the problem behavior is happening, and they can develop an intervention strategy to treat the problem best as they occur. This allows for multiple opportunities to target the behavior of interest and help to teach appropriate behaviors.
Family Involvement: It is excellent for immediate family training, allowing therapists to observe dynamics and coach caregivers in real-time.
Convenience: It saves time on transportation and accommodates family scheduling constraints better than fixed-center hours.
